LIC topples NTC in all-star affair

The Little Illini Conference All-Stars came out victorious against the boys of the National Trail Conference on Saturday night. In the annual LIC-NTC matchup, played this year at Cumberland, the LIC squad cruised to a commanding 80-55 win. Robinson’s Aaron Siler took home the MVP award for the LIC, scoring nine points, all of which came on 3-point baskets.

Dylan Davidson, Dylan Johnson and Keith Butler represented Newton on the LIC team, and all three had impressive showings. Davidson scored nine points, Johnson had seven and Butler delivered six of his own. Cumberland’s Trevor Brumleve reached double digits with his 10-point effort.

St. Anthony’s Jacob Schuette was honored as the MVP for the NTC, logging a team-high 12 points. Dieterich sharpshooter Dalton Hinterscher dropped nine points, Stew-Stras big man Justin Fulk had eight and Cowden-Herrick phenom Luke Moore scored six points for the NTC.

Hinterscher also won the 3-point contest, hitting 13 treys in the finals to beat St. Elmo’s Connor Beasley (11), Davidson (8) and Marshall’s Walker Berner (6).
