EFFINGHAM — Joshua Morrison earned 5,305 votes to become Fayette County's next state's attorney, replacing Stephen Friedel, while assistant state's attorney Matt Chancey earned 3,430 votes.
Jasper County re-elected Kevin Parker as state's attorney, 3,406 defeating William Hoffeditz 1,526.
