EFFINGHAM —
The Effingham Daily News is now accepting nominations for its 2013 Citizen of the Year award.
Nominations for this 27th yearly event must be turned in by 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013.
To nominate someone for the award that recognizes an individual for his or her community contributions, submit a letter to the Effingham Daily News explaining why the nominee deserves the honor.
Please include the nominee's profession, previous honors and accomplishments and contributions that demonstrate exemplary citizenship. Those submitting letters of nomination should include the nominee's name, address and phone number.
A panel of community judges will select the winner and the honor will be announced Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce's annual banquet. The Daily News will feature the award recipient in the Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, edition, and will have a supplement honoring the 2013 Citizen of the Year on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013.
