EFFINGHAM —
Victor William Hollman, 94, of Effingham, passed away at 9:57 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Evergreen Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 4, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Effingham. Burial will be in Arborcrest Memorial Park, Effingham. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church. Pagel Funeral Home, Edgewood, is handling arrangements.
Victor was born June 24, 1918, in St. Peter, the son of Edward William and Amelia (Storck) Hollman. He worked for 20 years at John Deere as a mechanic and retired from the former World Color Press. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed woodworking in his shop. His family will remember him as hard working, easy going and a great pinochle card player. He will be greatly missed. Victor was also a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, Effingham.
Surviving are his daughters, Vickie Darling and Joyce Connours, both of Effingham; grandchildren, Sash, Kayla and Kurt (wife, Kelli); and seven great-grandchildren.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents; son, Laverne in infancy; wives, Lawrene, Irene and Lorna; son-in-law, Jack Connours; brother, Martin Hollman; sister, Edna Grandt; two nephews; and three grandchildren.
