DIETERICH —
Lawrence Russell Schmidt, 67, of Dieterich, passed away at 1:43 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Blake-Wright Funeral Home, Dieterich, with the Rev. Curtis Graves officiating. Burial will be in Sumner Cemetery, Sumner. Visitation will be two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.blakefh.com.
Mr. Schmidt was born Oct. 16, 1945, in Effingham, the son of Charles and Marion (Kuhn) Schmidt. He served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Schmidt worked for Webb’s Body Shop in Effingham for many years. He was a member of the Effingham Church of Christ. He was a collector of “many.”
Mr. Schmidt is survived by wife, Jerri L. May of Dieterich; mother, Marion (William) Dust of Effingham; and brother, Kent Lee (Jane Cornell) Schmidt of Dieterich.
Mr. Schmidt was preceded in death by his father.
