EFFINGHAM —
Gertrude O. Dust, 90, of Effingham, passed away at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Aspen Creek, Effingham.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Effingham. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Effingham. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. with a 5:30 p.m. prayer service Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Gertrude was born on Sept. 25, 1922, in Koblenz, Germany, the daughter of Vivian and Gertrude (Schroeder) Aldridge. She married Albert W. Dust at St. Polycarp Catholic Church on May 1, 1945, in Carmi, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 1967. Gertrude was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Effingham, and the C.C.W. of the church. She was a homemaker. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Aspen Creek for the wonderful care of their mother.
Gertrude is survived by her children, Gregory W. (Alice) Dust of Effingham, W. Richard Dust of Effingham, Eugene A. (Beth) Dust of Plymouth, Minn., Christopher (Mary) Dust of Watson, Ann Wines of Effingham, Jon R. (fiancee, Marilyn Soltwedel) Dust of Effingham and Mary Dust of Effingham; brothers, Francis (Carolyn) Aldridge of Eldorado, John (Sue) Aldridge of Eldorado, and Joseph Aldridge; sister, Rose Dumas of Paducah, Ky.; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert; infant twin sons; brothers, Wilford Aldridge and William Aldridge; and sister, Mary Antel.
