EFFINGHAM —
Anna Marie Wernsing, 96, of Effingham, passed away at 11:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Effingham, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the donor’s choice. Anna Marie was born August 31, 1916, in Effingham, the daughter of August and Clara (Metten) Kenter. She married Robert H. Wernsing on July 9, 1940, and he preceded her in death in 1978.
She is survived by a son, James (Jane) Wernsing of Effingham; sister, Gertrude Woermann of Effingham; two grandchildren, Michael (Cristy Cornelius) Wernsing of Spring Green, Wis., and Teresa (Ken) Haywood of Effingham; and six great-grandchildren.
Anna Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Robert Kenter; a sister-in-law, Annie Kenter; and a brother-in-law, Henry Woermann.
