Sharon A. Dhom, 63, of Newton, died at 8:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at her home.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Newton, with the Rev. Al Kemme celebrating Mass. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Newton. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church. Arrangements are under the care of Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home, Newton. Sharon was born Dec. 10, 1948, in Mattoon, the daughter of Ralph and Selma (Krone) Osthoff. She married Andrew “Andy” Dhom on April 13, 1973, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Mattoon.
Sharon was a school bus driver for more than 22 years in Jasper County. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. She enjoyed genealogy, wood working, gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 39 years, Andrew “Andy” Dhom of Newton; children, Justin (Brittany) Dhom of Newton and Jessica (Buck) Pickens of Wheeler; grandchildren, Saige Dhom and Jacee Dhom of Newton and Brennen Pickens of Wheeler; brother, Roger (Anne) Osthoff of Mattoon; and niece, Ashley Elliott of Kenosha, Wis.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; and father- and mother-in-law, Alexander and Theresa Dhom.
