GREENUP —
Lois Lee James, 86, of Greenup, went to be her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Barkley Funeral Chapel, Greenup, with the Rev. Roger James officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery.
Lois was born July 29, 1926, to Vernon Lee and Mary Elizabeth (Strader) Darling in Cumberland County. She married Dale James on Sept. 10, 1944, in Greenup. She was a member of the New Hope Christian Church, a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor. She had a lifelong love of sewing and gardening and making beautiful quilts for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her Lord and strived to live a Christ like example for her family a d friends. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the New Hope Church, H.O.P. E. Food Pantry of Hidalgo or Lincoln Land Hospice. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years; children, Sheryl (Mark) Fulton of Hidalgo, Roger (Janie) James of Greenup, Marilyn (Jeff) Taylor of Greenup, and Carolyn (Phil) Carr of Yale; grandchildren, Jon (Meredith) Fulton of Effingham, Grant (deceased) (Terry) Fulton of Lone Jack, Mo., Jason (Michelle) Fulton of Newton, Kyle James of Toledo, Kevin (Tess) James of Washington, Erin (Andy) St. John of Greenup, Chris (Heidi) Taylor of Greenup, Scott (Becky) Taylor of Mattoon, Greg (KaLeigh) Taylor of Mattoon, Eric (Carrie) Carr of Hidalgo, Janelle (Adam) Kuhn of Hidalgo; great-grandchildren, Grant Fulton of Effingham, Gabe, Dexter and Quincy Fulton of Newton, Cameron, Evan and Mallory James of Greenup, Emma St. John of Greenup, Max James of Washington, Mackenzie and Zach Taylor of Greenup, Madison and Brock Taylor of Mattoon, Ella Brooke Taylor of Mattoon, Ben, Claire and Emily Carr of Hidalgo, May, Makenna, Makai and Marshall Kuhn of Hidalgo; step great-grandchildren, Ashley Fulton Scully of Warrensburg, Mo., and Bubba Fulton Scully of Lone Jack, Mo.; sister, Janice Clark of Hidalgo; niece, Julia Kintner of Robinson; nephews, Gary Darling of Greenup, Jim Riddle of Newton and Jim Jones of Alton; sister-in-law, Opal Darling of Greenup.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Darling; and grandson, Grant Fulton.
