TEUTOPOLIS —
Kathryn L. Hartke, 68, of Teutopolis, passed away at 3:18 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. There will be a wake service and rosary held on Monday at 3 p.m. with visitation immediately following, until 7 p.m. at the church in Teutopolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ARC Community Support Systems. Online condolences may be left at www.bauerfh.com.
Kathryn was born Aug. 3, 1944, in Effingham, the daughter of Henry and Pauline (Niebrugge) Hoene. She married Charles A. “Chuck” Hartke on Aug. 10, 1963, and he survives.
Kathryn was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis and the St. Francis Council of Catholic Women. She was a former ARC Foundation board member, serving for 11 years.
Kathryn is survived by her husband, Chuck of Teutopolis; son, Christopher (Beth) of Teutopolis; daughter, Kimberly (Patrick) Deters of Teutopolis; six grandchildren, Ryan and Jaelen Deters, Rachael, Madeline, Anna and Jack Hartke; mother, Pauline Hoene of Effingham; brother, Henry P. (Lois) Hoene of Effingham; two sisters, Dolores (Charlie) Kroeger of Teutopolis and Bernice Dasenbrock of Effingham.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her father, Henry.
