ALTAMONT —
Mrs. Lillian R. Yagow, 81, of Altamont, went to her heavenly home at 5:20 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, peacefully at her farm home surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services were Feb. 18 at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Altamont, with the Rev. Clayton Vail officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Altamont. Lillian R. (Heiden) Yagow was born Dec. 3, 1931, in Effingham County, the Bethlehem Community near Altamont, one of two siblings into the Christian family of William and Edna (Berg) Heiden. Lillian grew up on the farm with her sister, Betty. She was a life member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed her faith, married and now buried. On Oct. 23, 1955, Lillian married John Yagow in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Together, John and Lillian were blessed with five children, Judy, Susan, Nancy, Steven and Jane. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Lillian was a homemaker and a farm wife sharing the responsibilities of the farm and raising a family in a Christian manor. She also enjoyed her horticulture talents in raising a large garden for family needs which was always surrounded by flowers.
She is survived by her husband, John Carl Yagow of Altamont; son, Steven (wife, Shela) Yagow of Altamont, and son, Scott (wife, Becky), and daughters, Taylor and Lauren; four daughters, Judy (husband, Jeff) Lee of Villa Park, and daughter, Jennie and great-granddaughter, Emma; Susan O’Donnell of North Lake, and son, Jason; Nancy (husband, Joe) Fillion of Plymouth, Wis., and sons, Bryan and Justin; Jane (husband, Tim) Laatsch of Altamont, and son, August and daughter, Lily; one sister, Miss Betty L. Heiden of Mason.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” Heiden and Emma Olga (Berg) Heiden; son-in-law, Paul O‘Donnell; and granddaughter, Jacki Lee.
