EFFINGHAM —
Mathilda A. Rieman, 97, of Effingham, passed away at 7:04 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Effingham, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, with a 6:30 p.m. parish wake service. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Mathilda was born on May 12, 1915, in Green Creek, the daughter of Henry and Catherine (Swingler) Niebrugge. She married John J. Rieman on May 18, 1935, and he preceded her in death in 1965. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Effingham.
Mathilda is survived by three sons, Robert A. (Linda) of Teutopolis, Donald H. (Marjorie) of Effingham and Steven J. (Barbara) of Sigel; daughter, Linda (Terry) Campbell of Paris; and sister, Pauline Hoene of Effingham; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Mathilda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, James; daughter, Marilyn; two brothers, Adolph Niebrugge and Andrew Niebrugge; and two sisters, Mildred Lee and Mary Frances.
