Mrs. Lorraine L. Wolff, 82 years old, of Altamont, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at 2:09 p.m. Lorraine died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral Services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Altamont, with the Rev. Clayton Vail officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be conducted from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Kull Funeral Chapel, Altamont. A second visitation will be held beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service Monday at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Burial Rites will be conducted at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Altamont, immediately following the funeral service. Lorraine Louise Wolff was born April 7, 1930, in Altamont, one of eight siblings into the Christian family of Albert and Julia (Schwerdtfeger) Kirchhoff. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was baptized at home in Altamont and confirmed her faith in Zion Lutheran Church. On April 30, 1950, Lorraine married Paul Carl Wolff Jr. in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Together, Paul and Lorraine were blessed with five children Darrel, Eugene, Dwight, Roberta and Christine. She was a very loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lorraine was a homemaker and a devoted wife sharing the responsibilities of raising a family in a Christian home. She was also a member of the Bethlehem Ladies Aid Society, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Home Extension, and a loyal Braille worker.
She is survived by her two sons, Darrel (wife, Beverly) Wolff of Columbia, Ill., and sons Travis and Drew and daughters Kayla and Megan; Dwight Carl Wolff of St. Louis and son Eric (mother, Tanya Ratliff) and daughter Jessica (mother, Debbie Smith); two daughters, Roberta (husband, Kent) Phillips of Altamont and son Clark and daughters Lexie, Justine, Josie and Kerigan; Christine (husband, Douglas) Winters of Altamont and son Hayden and daughters Amelia and Audrey; one brother, Carl (wife, Nancy) Kirchhoff of Decatur; two brothers-in-law, Raymond Paul Berg of Altamont and Larkin Smith of Indianapolis; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert E. and Julia (Schwerdtfeger) Kirchhoff; Husband, Paul Carl Wolff Jr.; Son, Eugene Paul Wolff; Brother, Richard and his wife, Imogene, Kirchhoff; sisters, Marian Florence Berg and Alice and her husband, Marlin, Milleville; Charlaine Ann Smith; Gertrude and husband John Winter; and Leoane Elizabeth Kirchhoff in her infancy.
