MASON —
Douglas Wayne Hall, 55, of Mason, entered his heavenly home on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital.
A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pagel Funeral Home, Edgewood, with the Rev. Judy Poe officiating. Burial will follow in Mason Cemetery, Mason. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to donor’s choice.
Doug was born in Rantoul, the son of Esther Gail Blair and Herb (Joyce) Hall. He married Belinda Parks on Oct. 8, 2005.
He worked for GHJ Drilling and was a lifelong worker in the oil fields. Doug also owned and operated a tree trimming business in Indiana for many years. He was a member of Laborers International Union Local 1197, National Electric Contractors Assn., and attended New Hope Church. Doug was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving as field radio operator from 1975 to 1979.
Surviving are his wife, Belinda of Mason; seven children, Amanda of Virginia, Audrey of Kansas City, Mo., Christopher and Curtis at home, Andrew Robinson, Allen and Maggie Matlock, all of Edgewood; parents, Ester Blair of Edgewood and Herb (Joyce) Hall of Kinmundy; four grandchildren, Stella, Elijah, Isaiah and Shae Lin; sister, Nancy Clark of Salem; brothers, Eddie Hall of Salem and Ronnie Hall of Edgewood; and grandmother, Verlene Blair of Effingham.
His grandparents, Otto Blair and Edward and Martha Hall and a very special uncle, Les Blair, preceded him in death.
Doug was a loving man with a heart of gold and will be missed by all who knew him.
