Lora Mae Jones, 88, of Effingham, passed away at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Stewardson Cemetery, Stewardson. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Stewardson. Online condolences may be left at www.bauerfh.com.
Lora Mae was born April 16, 1924, in Mode, the daughter of Henry F. and Cordila (Monteray) Kessler. She married Aubrey Jones on Feb. 21, 1943. Lora Mae was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Stewardson.
Lora Mae is survived by two sons, Jerry (Merna) of Stewardson and Ron (Paula) of Strasburg; two daughters, Joyce (Bill) Downing of Rogers, Ark., and Jackie (Michael) Walker of Effingham; 12 grandchildren, Robert Cordts of Colorado Springs, Colo., Dawn (Mark) Burrell of Rogers, Ark., Rachael (Mike) Forest of Pea Ridge, Ark., Matt (Nikki) Jones of Effingham, Chris (Katie) Jones of Stewardson, Abby (Alex) Fischer of Herrin, Elizabeth (Ken) Fitzgerald of Effingham, Nikki (Chris) Daniels of Strasburg, Jacob (Aiko) Reed of Stoughton, Mass., Joshua Reed of Fall River, Kan., Brady Walker of Mattoon and Jordon Jones of Strasburg; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Lora Mae was preceded in death by her parents; two infant brothers and brother, Melvin Kessler; and four sisters, Dorothy (Roley) Campbell, Marie Buckley, Thelma Turrentine and Viola Miner.
