Farrell Gray, 100, of Newton, passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home, Newton, with the Rev. Ron Mulvey officiating. Burial will be in Hazel Dell Cemetery, Hazel Dell. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Potter's House Ministries. Online condolences may be left at www.crainfuneral.com.
Nina Farrell Wright was born on April 15, 1912, in Cumberland County, the daughter of Lewis and Vallie (Flowers) Wright. In 1929, Farrell married Harry Gray. He preceded her in death in 1970. Farrell was a seamstress and garment inspector for E. R. Moore Cap and Gown Co. in Newton until her retirement in the early 1970s. She was a member of the Potter's House Ministries, Newton.
Farrell will be loved and remembered by her son, Albert Gray (wife, Vera) of Newton; grandchildren, Nancy Cox (husband, Ray) of Coila, Miss., and Bob Gray (wife, Kathy) of Newton; six great-grandchildren, Mel Gary (wife, Amy) of Hazel Dell, Stephen Gray (wife, Stephanie) of Casey, Harley Gray and Hunter Gray, both of Newton, and David Gray and Derrick Gray, both of Effingham; three great-great-grandchildren, Taylor and Madison Gray of Hazel Dell and Riley Gray of Casey; stepgrandson, Steven Stiles (wife, Ann) of Morris; four stepgrandchildren, Chad Stiles of Morris, Tara Stiles of New York, April Ulmer of Effingham and Garrett Ulmer (wife, Jamie) of Chatham; and three great-great-stepgrandchildren, Holden and Bryce Ulmer of Effingham and Kit Ulmer of Chatham.
Her parents; husband; daughter, Lucille Gray; grandson, David Gray; great-grandson, Danny Gray; and siblings, Thurman, Forrest and Frieda Wright, preceded her in death.
