EFFINGHAM —
Agnes M. Koester, 89, of Effingham, passed away at noon Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lillyville, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church with a 6:30 p.m. parish wake service. Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lillyville. Agnes was born April 21, 1923, in Effingham County, the daughter of Herman and Mary (Unkraut) Ruholl. She married Raymond J. Koester on Aug. 29, 1953, and he preceded her in death in 1992.
Agnes was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lillyville and Sacred Heart Council of Catholic Women.
Agnes is survived by one son, Melvin (Connie) of Effingham; two daughters, Linda (Robert) Barnick of Teutopolis and Diana (Brad) Foor of Neoga; eight grandchildren, Stacey (Chris) McNutt, Aaron Barnick, Jason Koester, Jodi Koester, Melissa Koester, Kimberly (Caleb) Dick, Crystal Foor and Kayla Foor; and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Cayden and Brody McNutt.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; and two sisters, Anna Lustig and Margaret Schumacher.
