Janice Poehler

DIETERICH — Janice Kay Poehler, 70, of rural Dieterich passed away at 5:03 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis.

    Funeral services celebrating Janice’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, rural Louisville, with Bill Causer officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, rural Louisville. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Blake-Wright Funeral Home, Dieterich. In loving memory of Janice, memorials may be made to the ARC Oakview Terrace.

    Janice was born on June 6, 1940, in Fayette  County, the daughter of Harold and Cora (Dammerman) Miller. She married Duane Poehler in September 1961.

    Janice was a homemaker, loving wife, mom, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. She was a member of Women’s Guild. She enjoyed collecting antiques, embroidering and especially visiting with her family and friends. She was an avid fan of the Dieterich Moving Maroons basketball team.

    Janice is survived by her husband, Duane Poehler of Dieterich; son, Rick Poehler of Louisville; daughters, Crystal (Craig) Kowalski of Effingham, Lori Poehler of Effingham, Tammy (Mike) Robertson of Nixa, Mo.; grandchildren, Jessica Robertson of Nixa, Mo., and Trey Robertson of Nixa, Mo.; special companion, Bayleigh the dog; sisters and brothers, Betty (Herb) Tabbert of Effingham, Glenda (Howard) Poehler of Ingraham, Ronnie Miller of Altamont, Myrna (Danny) Hites of Edgewood, Floyd (Ruth Ann) Miller of Altamont; mother-in-law, Alice Poehler of Effingham; and several nieces and nephews.

    Janice was preceded in death by her parents; and father-in-law, Amos Poehler.
