EFFINGHAM —
Charles “Chick” Andrew Hille, 79, of Effingham, passed away at 8:53 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Effingham. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with a 7 p.m. rosary at Hall Funeral Chapel, Effingham. Burial with military rites will be in St. Anthony Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Effingham V.F.W. Post 120. Condolences may be left at www.hallfuneralchapel.com.
Chick was born April 22, 1933, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, the son of George and Elizabeth (Hoelscher) Hille. He married Rosemary Ruholl on Sept. 26, 1956, in Teutopolis. She preceded him in death on March 13, 1993. Chick was an U.S. Army Veteran and served in the military during the Korean War. He worked at Effingham Equity, retiring after 36 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham, the N.R.A., Coon Hunters Club, Effingham V.F.W. Post 120 and he also worked in construction at Brumleve Milling.
Survivors include eight children: Tony (Cathy) Hille of Mason, Mark (Sandy) Hille of Neoga, Marie (Ron) Flood of Toledo, Patsy (Dean) Hotze of Teutopolis, Alice (Carl) Deters of Teutopolis, Mike Hille of Sigel, Joe (Julie) Hille of Effingham and Ellen (Gregg) Thies of Teutopolis; one brother, Leo Hille of Effingham; 28 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosemary; four brothers, Clarence, George, Harold and Louis Hille; three sisters, Florence Overbeck, Agnes Heuerman and Alice Hardiek.
