AURORA —
Wilma L. Fitzpatrick, 75, of Aurora, formerly of Waverly, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Presence Mercy Center Hospital.
Funeral services were Jan. 10, 2013, in Aurora. Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery, Geneva. Daleiden Mortuary, Aurora, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions in Wilma's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
She was born Sept. 16, 1937, in Waverly. Wilma was a graduate of Waverly High School and earned both her bachelor and master degrees in education from Illinois State University, Normal. She retired as a speech correctionist after 40 years of service in the West Aurora Public School System. She was a member of the IEA (Illinois Education Association) for many years.
Wilma is survived by her five sisters, Donna (Roy) Coppenbarger of Kenney, Marilyn Fitzpatrick of Pawnee, Peggy (Rick) Long of Pittsboro, Ind., Kathryn (Fred) Norman of Springfield and Michele (Michael) Thompson of Rochester; five brothers, Dale (Peggy) Fitzpatrick of Effingham, Hershel (Carole) Fitzpatrick of Springfield, Gerald Fitzpatrick of Franklin, James (Susan) Fitzpatrick of Franklin and Robert W. "Willie" (Debbie) Fitzpatrick of Alva, Okla.; sister-in-law, Jean Ann Fitzpatrick of Waverly; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph L. and Doris (Pitchford) Fitzpatrick Sr.; two brothers, Joseph L. Fitzpatrick Jr. and Michael Fitzpatrick in infancy; and sister, Dorothy J. Fitzpatrick.
