CHRISMAN —
Katrina Irena Marie (Collings) Palmer, 97, of Chrisman, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Krabel Funeral Home, Chrisman. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Katrina was born Feb. 5, 1915, in East Lynn, to Charles D. and Mattie Eugenia (Rife) Collings.She married Kern Paul (K.P.) Palmer in November 1936, in Danville. He preceded her in death in 1992. Katrina was a lifelong resident of the Edgar County area and a member of Chrisman Christian Church. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She dearly loved her children and all of her grandchildren; she was a great gardener and florist, with a passion for African violets.
She is survived by three sons, Paul (Elsie) Palmer of Effingham, Kenneth (Dorothy) Palmer of Perrysville, Ind., and James (Mary Alice) Palmer of Champlin, Minn.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Katrina was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five brothers and five sisters-in-law.
