BEECHER CITY —
Richard C. White, 85, of Beecher City, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Cowden. Burial will be in Hubbartt Cemetery, near Beecher City. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. The family requests casual attire. Richard was born April 8, 1927, in Illinois, the son of James and Laura Baldwin White. Richard worked at Sta-Rite Ginnie Lou in Shelbyville for 54 years. Formerly, he was road commissioner for Dry Point Township, Shelby County, and farmed. He married Karen White on Sept. 14, 1973, and she survives.
Also surviving are children, Joshua (Crissy) White of Springfield, Faron (Vicki) Blackwell of Shelbyville, Carla Thomas of Beecher City, and Maxie Evans of Olney; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Rosie Enlow of Brownstown; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, three sisters and one great-grandchild.
