EFFINGHAM — Mabel L. Budde. 88, of Effingham, passed away at 10:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Effingham, with the Rev. Ted Gall officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery on Dutch Lane, Effingham. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church and one hour prior to the service Wednesday. Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, is in charge of arrangements. Mabel was born on March 14, 1924, in Jackson Township, the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Genaust) Schmohe. She married Earl E. Budde in 1954, and he preceded her in death on April 30, 2001.
Mabel was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Effingham. She was a member of the Lydia Guild and Ladies Aid of the church. She had worked at the Illinois Glove Factory in Effingham and was an Avon sales representative for over 40 years.
Mabel is survived by her children, Mary Ellen Zumwalt of Altamont, Dan Budde of Neoga, Ruth (Don) Rhodes of Effingham and Joe (Carol) Budde of Effingham; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Adam) Huston, Catherine Miller, David Zumwalt, Sarah (Adam) Bryant, Matthew Budde and special friend Jill, Brandon Wendling, Stacy (Jake) Nelson, Paige Rhodes, Emma Budde and Tori Budde; great-grandchildren, Blayne Huston, Blayke Huston, Noah Zumbahlen, Nicholas Miller, Xavier Bryant, Hailey Bryant, Uriah Bryant, Jaxon Budde, and Brody Nelson; and sister, Erna A. Niccum of Effingham. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Earl.
