Kenneth Kemper

GREENUP — Kenneth W. “Bill” Kemper, 64, of Greenup, passed away at 11:37 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon.

    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Barkley Funeral Chapel, Greenup. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Burial with full military rites by Cumberland County Veterans will be in the Greenup Cemetery. Memorials can be made to either the American Diabetes Assoc., 2580 Federal Dr., Suite 403, Decatur, IL 62526 or to the Greenup Presbyterian Church, Box 426, Greenup, IL 62428.     Kenneth was born on Sept. 8, 1948, in Greenup, the son of Noble and Anna Rosalie (Kuhn) Kemper. He married Javetta Paddock on June 6, 1970.

    Surviving is his loving wife of 42 years; his mother, Rosalie Kemper of Greenup; son, Keith, wife Tina, Kemper of Mount Vernon; and a daughter, Shana, husband Matthew, DeSmit of Franklin, Tenn.; a brother, Jerry, wife Sue, Kemper of Greenup; grandchildren, Kenneth Gabe, Noble Colebe, Anna Gracie, Arielle, Gabe and Lena.

    He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Judy.

    Kenneth worked for Eastern Illinois University Building Services for 20 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was member of Greenup United Methodist Church, NRA and the Illinois Team Roping Association.
