EFFINGHAM —
Virginia B. Patrick, 76, of Effingham, formerly of Neoga, passed away at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, in Effingham Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Swengel-O’Dell Funeral Home, Neoga, with the Rev. Richard Coen officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Smyser Cemetery, rural Gays. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left at www.swengel-odell.com.
Virginia was born April 14, 1936, in Moultrie County, the daughter of Glen and Adah (Martin) Garrett. She married Harold E. Patrick, June 17, 1954, in Neoga, and Mr. Patrick passed away March 8, 2002. Virginia was a member of the Smyser Christian Church of rural Gays. Virginia was a housewife and homemaker.
She leaves one son, Tom Patrick of Columbia City, Ind.; two daughters, Pat Patrick of Effingham, and Penny Moschenrose and husband, Dan, of Watson; two sisters, Barbara Swisher of Shelbyville and Kay Owens and husband, Emery “Butch,” of Apollo Beach, Fla.; one granddaughter, Alexandria “Alex” Shadwell of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Patrick was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one son, Glen R. Patrick.
