Harold Grunloh

EFFINGHAM — Harold J. Grunloh, 88, of Effingham, passed away at 7:37 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Help of Christian Church, Green Creek. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hall Funeral Chapel, Effingham, with a 7 p.m. K of C rosary. Burial with military rites will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Online condolences may be left at www.hallfuneralchapel.com.

Harold was born on April 27, 1924, in Effingham County, the son of George H. and Elizabeth (Dust) Grunloh. He married Eileen Williamson and she preceded him in death on April 7, 2005. Harold worked in construction, brick laying, and was retired from farming. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army 11th Airborne and served his country in Japan during World War II. Harold was a member of St. Mary Help of Christian Church in Green Creek, Knights of Columbus Council 665, American Legion Post 120, and VFW Post 1769 of Effingham.

Survivors include children, Daniel (Diana) Grunloh of Loda, Bruce (Cheryl) Grunloh of Effingham, Diane (Charles) Witte of Fond du Lac, Wis., Terry (Sandra) Grunloh of Effingham, Robin (James) Willey of Effingham, Tim (Cindy) Grunloh of Teutopolis, 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eileen; and one son, Gary Allen Grunloh.
