ST. ELMO —
Daisy A. Durbin, 93, of St. Elmo, entered eternal rest at 6:05 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Chapel, St. Elmo, with burial at Springhill Cemetery, rural St. Elmo. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at C & A Pagel Funeral Home, St. Elmo. Memorials may be made to St. Elmo FFA, New Horizon Church, Trinity Chapel or the donor's choice.
Mrs. Durbin was born Nov. 17, 1919, in Fayette County to Russell and Gracie (Hedges) Hopper. She married Clifford Durbin on Feb. 2, 1939, at the court house in Vandalia.
In her passing, she leaves behind her daughters and son, Tena (husband Greg) Matas of Oreana, Marilyn (husband Dwayne) Dial, Charlie (Wife Nancy) Durbin and Barbara (husband Paul) Shelton, all of St. Elmo; 10 grandchildren, Doug Dial, Randy, Ryan and Kyle Matas, Chelsy and Clifton Durbin, Joshua, Amy Fulk and Deana and Dana Shelton; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Marion Hopper, George Hopper, Walter Hopper, Earl Hopper, Bill Hopper and Freddie Hopper who died infancy; and sisters, Bertha Hopper and Dolly Hopper, who also died in infancy.
