James "Jim" David Wood, 72, of Flora, died at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Illinois Department of Veterans Home, Anna.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Shouse Chapel Cemetery, rural Bible Grove, with Howard Bell officiating. Military rites will be held. In lieu of flower, memorials may be made to DAV Chapter 80. Memorials may be left at www.jwnealfuneralhome.com.
James was born April 19, 1940, in Clay County, the son of Paul L. Wood Sr. and Laura (Grove) Wood.
He was a farmer and a member of Louisville Methodist Church and VFW. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
James is survived by his sisters, Barbara Phelps of Carbondale, Joan Wooden of East Moline, Mary Jane Fester of Godfrey and Virginia Behrens of Newburg, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul L. Wood Jr. and John Wood; and sister, Elizabeth Fordyce.
