CAMARGO —
Donald R. Hudson, 69, of Camargo, died at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at Carle Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Joines Funeral Home, Villa Grove, with the Rev. Nicholas Showalter officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be in Camargo Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Don Hudson Family or to the Douglas County Food Bank.
Mr. Hudson was born March 16, 1943, in Douglas County, a son of Hillis Moren and Brittie V. (Green) Hudson. He married Linda Hunt on Aug. 18, 1990, in Shelby County. She survives in Camargo.
Also surviving are one son, Kye Hudson of Neoga; three daughters, Rannette (Troy) Brown of Williamsport, Ind., Michelle Dalby of Mahomet, and Polly (Quentin) Olmstead of Urbana; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Ronald “Rock” Hudson of Villa Grove; three sisters, Oretta Naive of Villa Grove, Peggy (James) Bentley of Veedersburg, Ind., and Joy Hillagoss of Mattoon.
Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Mr. Hudson was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member and past commander of the Neoga American Legion Post 458. He worked for G.E. in Mattoon for 14 years and retired from CIPS Newton Power Plant in 2003. Don loved to go camping, hunting, fishing, root for the Fighting Illini, the St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR racing. He loved sports of all kinds. He loved most of all to be with his family, friends, and his pet dogs.
