Euris Calvin Henderson, 88, of Greenup, passed away at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Charleston Rehab & Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Barkley Funeral Chapel, Greenup, with the Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Nov. 2, at the funeral chapel. Burial with military rites conducted by Cumberland County Veterans will be in Block Cemetery, rural Greenup. Memorials may be made to Block Church or to the donor’s choice. Euris was born Sept. 28, 1924, in rural Greenup, to Emery Roy and Kathleen Grace (Kellogg) Henderson. He married Virginia Dunn on Dec. 22, 1945. Euris was a lifelong grain and livestock farmer. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Mount Zion Block Church and also was on the Cumberland Nursing Center Board of Directors and the Federal Land Bank Board for many years.
Surviving is his loving wife of 66-plus years; two daughters, Sally D. Keller (husband, Dan) of Goshen, Ky., and Kathy S. Ferguson (husband, Steve) of Charleston; four grandchildren, Brad wife Amy Keller of Goshen, Ky., Dani (husband, Brandon) Reich of Goshen, Ky., Alicia Ferguson of Chicago and Amy (husband, Patrick) Morrow of Boliver, Mo.; and six great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Rhiannon Marrow, Carter and Charlotte Reich and Evan and Henry Keller.
Euris was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Emery, Leland and Merl Henderson; and one sister, Marjorie Henderson.
