EFFINGHAM —
Earl Glenn Elliott, 87, of Effingham, passed away at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Effingham.
Earl’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be no services or visitation at this time. A family memorial will be held at a later date in Royal Oak Cemetery, Wheatland, Ind. Memorials may be made to Crossroads Cancer Center of Effingham. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonandsonsfh.com. Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, is assisting with arrangements.
Earl was born June 10, 1925, in Knox County, Ind., the son of Schuyler and Blanche (Myers) Elliott. He married Jacqueline Jennings on Jan. 31, 1948, in South Bend, Ind.
She preceded him in death Jan. 16, 1979. Earl was a truck driver and a teamster union member. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed “snowbirding” to Florida during the winter months, and traveling to Canada in the spring when the fishing was best. He also loved to garden.
Earl is survived by his sons, Eric Lee (Gloria) Elliott of Bay Cliff, Texas, Mark Glenn Elliott of Shirley, Ark., and Carl Jennings (Lisa) Elliott of Effingham; sister, Carmen June Harting of Edwardsport, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jacqueline; infant son, Alan Dean; four brothers, Robert Elliott, Randall Elliott, Marvel Elliott and Herschell Elliott; and one sister, Mida Taylor.
