EFFINGHAM —
Ludvina Lake, 101, of Effingham, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Effingham, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, with a parish prayer service at 3:30 p.m. for those wishing to attend. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Ludvina was born on Nov. 25, 1911, in Lillyville, the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Buhnerkemper) Wendt. She married Leonard B. Lake on Aug. 12, 1936, and he preceded her in death in 1986. Ludvina enjoyed playing cards, quilting and spending time with her family and friends. She and her late husband, Leonard, managed the Villa Inn for many years. Ludvina was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women.
Ludvina is survived by her son, Leon of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; daughter, Marlene (Tom) Rodriguez of Aurora, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; son, Gene; five brothers; and three sisters.
