ALTAMONT —
Dale E. Lux, 65, of Altamont died at 6:08 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, with the Rev. Clayton Vail officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Boy Scout Troop 140, Altamont, or the donor's choice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.giesekingfh.com.
Dale was born Dec. 21, 1947, in Salem, to Ralph and Velma (Duncan) Lux. He married Dorothy Lange on Dec. 22, 1965. He was affiliated with Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Altamont. He was retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation as an ET-4. He had been a scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 140 for many years.
He is survived by his wife; his sons, Scott Lux of Altamont, Brent (Jennifer) Lux of Hoffman Estates; his sister, Joyce (Kent) Kastner of Shobonier; and his four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Eugene Lux.
