TEUTOPOLIS —
Herman F. Runde, 90, of Teutopolis, passed away at 8:48 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Teutopolis, with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. A parish wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church for those wishing to attend. Visiting hours will follow from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to Catholic Charities. Herman was born Sept. 13, 1922, in Teutopolis, the son of Herman J. and Mary B. Siemer. He married Luella B. Worman on Sept. 8, 1949, and she survives.
Herman was a 1940 graduate of Teutopolis High School and later graduated from St. Louis University. He was former president and chairman of the board at Teutopolis State Bank. Herman was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis; St. Francis MenÕs Sodality and had previously served as a past board member of Catholic Charities. Herman was a member of the Teutopolis American Legion 924, as well as the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Council 2874. He was also a charter member of WWTAC.
Herman is survived by his wife, Luella of Teutopolis; three sons, Richard A. (Deb) of Teutopolis, Dr. Charles W. (Vera) of Teutopolis and Larry (Sue) of Glencoe, Mo.; one daughter, Barb Runde of Teutopolis; three brothers, Paul, William (Ellen) and Gene, all of Teutopolis; one sister, Mary Angela Runde of Teutopolis; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Kenneth; and brother, Dr. Joseph Runde.
