Catherine A. (Niebrugge) Flynn, 83, of Effingham, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Green Creek, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Catherine was born Feb. 17, 1930, in Green Creek, the daughter of John H. and Mary (Willenborg) Niebrugge. She married John J. Flynn on June 6, 1959, in Chicago, and he preceded her in death in 1989. Catherine was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church and the St. Mary’s Council of Catholic Women.
Catherine is survived by her son, John (Alice) of Effingham; daughter, Jean (Rick) Cornell of Teutopolis; sister, Rita Pals of Teutopolis; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; daughter, Mary C. Lovelace; infant grandson; two sisters, Agnes Bezdon and Theresa Brunzie; and three brothers, Raymond, John and Vincent (Terry).
