CLAY CITY —
Dolan Bayler, 81, of Clay City, died at 2:18 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Evergreen Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Clay City, with Gary Pierce officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Foster Hill-Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.summers-kistler.com.
He was born March 31, 1931, in Clay County, the son of Earl Dolan and Lola (Benskin) Bayler. Dolan was a U.S. Army veteran and an incredible welder and craftsman. He enjoyed being in the woods, cutting wood and he was a man of the land. Dolan loved each one of his grandchildren and saw something unique in each one.
Survivors include special friend, Shirley Martin of Shobonier; daughters, Deborah Lewis of Mason and Becky Rickelman and husband, Jerry, of Effingham; son, Randall Bayler and wife, Teresa, of Clay City; grandchildren, Elizabeth Fearday of Robinson, Abby Koester of Omega, Aaron Rickelman of Chesterfield, Mo., Tyler Rickelman of Chesterfield, Mo., Dustin Bayler of Noble, Brianna Wilson of West Union and Alexander Bayler of Olney; great-grandchildren, Shelby Koester, Lillie Koester, Cash Veteto, Cohlson Fearday, Ruby Koester, Hadley Koester, Braylee Bayler, Jack Bayler Wilson and Kerrigan Bayler; sister, Agnes Hosselton and husband, Ronald, of Clay City; brother-in-law, Maurice Denton of Olney; nieces, Carol Ann Andreatta and Mary Jane Divine; and nephew, David Hosselton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Erma Denton.
