Honor flight participant and World War II veteran Alfred Reed of Shumway surveys the inside of a 1198 Humvee during the honor flight fundraiser Monday at the Effingham Knights of Columbus Building. Reed, a glider trooper in the 82nd airborne during the Italian campaign, was escorted by Central Illinois Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., last year with other area veterans to see the World War II Memorial on the National Mall.
